Straightforward answers to the questions we hear most. Most patients can see a podiatrist without a referral, though some HMO plans require one. Podiatry visits are typically covered by insurance the same way as any specialist, and we accept most major plans, including Medicare, Carefirst BlueCross Blueshield, Cigna, Aetna, Johns Hopkins EHP, and United Healthcare.
Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?
Most PPO plans let you see a podiatrist without a referral, while some HMO plan do require a referral. Medicare does not require a referral. Call the office and we’ll help you check.
Is a podiatrist covered by insurance?
Yes — podiatry visits are typically covered like any specialist visit. We accept most major plans, including UnitedHealthcare, Johns Hopkins EHP, and CareFirst, and we’re happy to verify your benefits before your appointment.
What happens at my first visit?
Your first visit begins with a conversation about your symptoms and history, a hands-on exam and gait check, plus imaging such as an X-ray if it’s needed — so you leave with a clear diagnosis and a tailored, conservative-first plan. See our New Patients page to prepare.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. We welcome new patients. Both Dr. Stewart and Dr. Yehonadav Kadosh is currently accepting new patients as well. Call (410) 560-2777 or request a consultation online to get started.
Will you recommend surgery right away?
No. We’re conservative-first — we diagnose the problem and start with the least invasive treatment that works, reserving surgery for the minority of cases that truly need it. Learn more on our Conservative Care page.
Where are you located and what are your hours?
We’re at 9622 Deereco Road, Timonium, MD 21093, with free on-site parking. We see patients Monday–Friday. See the Contact page for full hours and a map.
Do you treat children’s foot problems?
Yes. We care for patients of all ages, including common pediatric concerns like flat feet, ingrown toenails, warts, and sports injuries. If you’re unsure whether we treat a specific issue, give us a call.
