Who is Dr. Jordan Stewart?

A Maryland podiatrist who specializes in diagnosing, treating, and preventing foot and ankle disorders using both medical and surgical care. A doctor of podiatric medicine is the only health care professional whose specialized training focuses on the foot, ankle, and related body systems — so foot and ankle care is what Dr. Stewart does every day.

Is Dr. Stewart board-certified?

Yes. Dr. Stewart is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery® (ABFAS) in Foot Surgery. Board certification is a voluntary credentialing process that includes comprehensive examinations and evaluation of surgical experience. It demonstrates that a surgeon has met rigorous standards established by an independent certifying board.

Where did Dr. Stewart train?

He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland at College Park and his podiatric medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed a three-year surgical residency at Mercy Medical Center and the University of Maryland School of Medicine. His final year of training was a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Maryland in the Department of Orthopaedics with Dr. John Kenzora, MD.

What can patients expect during an appointment with Dr. Stewart?

Every visit begins with a thorough history and physical examination to determine the cause of your foot or ankle problem. When needed, Dr. Stewart reviews X-rays or other imaging, explains your diagnosis clearly, and develops a personalized treatment plan based on your condition, goals, and activity level. Many foot, ankle, and lower leg problems can be treated without surgery, but when surgery is the best option, he’ll explain your choices and what to expect every step of the way.

Leadership and Professional Involvement

Dr. Stewart served on the Executive Board of the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association (MPMA) for eight years, including a two-year term as President. During his tenure, the MPMA helped expand the scope of ankle-fracture surgery for podiatrists in Maryland. He’s an active member of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), contributes to clinical research, and helps train the next generation of podiatric surgeons and serves as a co-chairman of a large podiatry practice management group in the DMV region.
